Matt Talbot Services continues to deliver first class quality services to Young People & their families who are undergoing problematic substance abuse.
As part of our efforts to continue to deliver these services, we have identified fund-raising as a major necessity. Last week was a week when the fundraising took on a theatrical “feel” with the tremendous generosity of the Rotary Club of Bishopstown & the Cork Arts Theatre. We managed to fill the theatre on two successive nights of the play “Over the Pub” & Matt Talbot Services were the sole beneficiaries. On 30th August, Bishopstown Rotarians & their guests filled the auditorium & on the second night; friends, guests & staff of Matt Talbot Services enjoyed the show. Those who were fortunate to be in attendance witnessed a superb night of the very best live theatrical performances. The play was both extremely funny & deeply touching there were many tears of laughter & some of sadness. Such was the success of this venture that there is a possibility to continue the theme of “A Night at the Theatre” in the future.
Heartfelt thanks to Bishopstown Rotary Club & its 2012 President, Dick Barry; to Patrick Cotter for making it all possible; to the Cork Arts Theatre & in particular Dolores Mannion; as the result of the generosity of the patrons on each evening, a sum in excess of €3,000 was raised for MTS.
